I've Got The Power

I think we all remember the C & C Music Factory song from the early 90's.  You heard it on your car stereo, saw the video on tv and even saw it on commercials.  When you heard Martha Wash belt out those lyrics, "I got the power," you really felt like you had the power.  But unlike the song that eventually faded away, we do have a power that lasts forever.  And it's available for us.  That's the power of prayer.  James 5:16 (Amp) "Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false step, your offenses, your sins) and pray (also) for one another, that you may be healed and restored (to a spiritual tone of mind and heart) the earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (dynamic in it's working).
Let's take a look at this power:
You've got the power.
The earnest heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man.  A righteous man, means a man that is in right standing with God.  A righteous man can pray without hindrances.  His prayers will be hertfelt prayers that flow out his heart continuously to God.
He's got the power for you.

God makes tremendous power available.
When we pray, the power supply that comes from God, dwells in us.  Making tremendous power available to do the extraordinary works of God.  Such as healing the sick, breaking curses and bondages.  Jude 1:20 "But you beloved, build yourselves up (founded) on your most holy faith (make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher) praying in the Holy Spirit."  Praying with this power places you far above your problem and allows you to see your problem the way God sees them, defeated.  Pray, equipping yourself to keep the enemy away from you.
We've got the power.
Prayer is "dynamic" in it's working.
Looking back at James 5:16, the Amplified Bible put this prase in parenthesis.  Like an add-on to the meaning.  The word dynamic means, force producing motion.  The root word in dynamic is dyna, which, in Greek, means power.  Dyna is also the root word for dynamite.  Which means power to blow up, shatter or destroy.  Praise God now we have the power to destroy, shatter and blow up the plans of the devil.  You don't have to live with the enemy defeating you.  Blow him up!
You are righteous when you pray.  You have such tremendous power available for you that it's dynamic (dynamite) in it's working.

Man, I'm Thirsty!

We can all relate to being thirsty.  Weather your mouth is dry and you need some water, or you're outside on a hot summers day and you could really go for a tall glass of lemonade, or you just finished working out and you need your favorite energy drink.  We all can relate to being thirsty.  But there is a thirst that can't be quenched by water or any other liquid beverage.  Thats our thirst for God.  "As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God.  When can I go and stand before him?" (Psalm 42:1-2 LT)  David wanted to know where God was so he could stand in His presence and quench his thirst.  Jesus provided confirmation in Matthew 5:6 (KJV) "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."  Notice he did not say, might be, could be or a strong possibly, be filled.  No,
he said SHALL be filled.  One translation says completely satisfied!  Weather we drink out of the bottle or out of the tap, regular water can never satisfy your thirst for Him.  "Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw."  John 4:13-15(KJV)  Look at that, Jesus said that he will give us a well, an endless supply of water on the inside of us that will spring up to everlasting life.  So how do we satisfy the thirst in our spirits to have more of God?  How do we thirst for Heaven and not the world?  How do we thirst for the everlasting and not the temporal?  Well I believe
the answer is, We Seek!  John 7:37-38 "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."  This scripture has 3 keys for never thirsting again.
The first key:  If any man thirst, let him come unto me.  Come and make Jesus your Savior and Lord of your life.
The second key:  Drink...drink what?  Drink the Word of God.  Drink in what God said about Jesus.  Drink in what God said about you and your life in Him.
The third key:  Believe, believe what the Word says about Jesus.  "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." John 14:6 & 9
These 3 keys will allow us to have an endless supply of living water that we never thirst again.  Jump in, the water is fine!

This week read, meditate and pray these scriptures:
Psalm 143:5-7
Matthew 5:6
Isaiah 41:16-18
John 6:34-36

" May I See Some I.D. Please"!

How many times have we heard that in life?  Weather you're going to the store to buy some smokes or maybe you're going to the bars and got asked for you I.D.  The worst is when you get pulled over by the police and they ask for you I.D. and proof of insurance.  We carry identification with us everywhere we go.  But Jesus said there is an identification we have with us always, that we can never use enough, our identification "In Him."  Acts 17:28 "For in him we live and move and have our being.’[a] As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring."  Isn't God wonderful, that in his son Jesus, we have our identification in Him, as his offspring, to live and move and have our being.  This begins when you make Jesus the Lord and Savior of you life.  Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
The first step of being in Him is confessing Jesus as you Lord.  Being a born again child of God is the key that opens the door to all of Gods provisions and promises for us in Him.  Now that we are in Him, He is Lord over our lives and we are under his Lordship.  Which means He now leads us and guides us in all truth.  He protects us and takes care of us as we operate in Him.  Jesus said I am the good shepherd (John 10:14).  We have been identified to do good.  Ephesians 2:10 (Amp) says, "For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), [a]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]."  Our God is so good that he planned out a path for us.  To live good and to do good in Him.  You may have been in prison or abused as a child.  Maybe you walked out on your family or were addicted to drugs which took you to a dark place in your life.  Every time you tried to do the right thing a mistake happened or times got hard and you thought there was no way out.  So you return to what you know or what you can identify with.  This only happened when we try to do the right things with the wrong ability, ours!  But the good news is that in Him you are a new creation.  2 Corinthians 5:17 "In Him you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you."
It all ends and begins with your I.D. in Him.  For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.  For all things live through Him and all things center on and tend to consummate and to end in Him.  To Him be glory forever!  Amen!  So be it, Romans 11:36 (Amp).  Your I.D. in Him not only tells you who you are, and others who you are, but it lets the devil know who you are.  Acts 19:13-16, "Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded."  This man, Sceva, tried to cast out the devil based on someone else's relationship with Jesus.  He had no relationship with Jesus, and since he had no relationship with Him, He had no I.D. in Him.  Since he had no I.D. in Him, the devil beat the crap out of him to the point that he was naked and wounded.
Your idenification is in Him (Jesus).  Start defeating the devil at every turn by saying what God says about you.  That now you show your I.D. in Him.
If the devil tells you, you won't win..your I.D. says in Romans 8:33, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."
If the devil tells you, you can't do this...your I.D. says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
If the devil tells you, you'll never be more than strung out, a crack head or a drunk..you tell him your I.D. says in 1 John 4:4 says, "..greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world."
Now you have your I.D. that will set you free.  Because whom the Son sets free is free indeed!
